And finally, the day has come! Yes! It has already been a year and thank God that I made it on my first! From stories shared to comments to kulitan and meeting new friends, I still can’t believe that I’ve reached this far. Of course, you, my blogger friends, are the reason for my home’s success. Frankly, am grateful to all of you. And hopefully for the coming months and days, I will try to continue on blogging for those who visit the site and sit for a chat and chichirya. So to those who shared their time and effort to come up with a fan sign for my anniversary, this is for you, guys!
To all my good friends at the Blogosphere, thank you! I couldn’t ask for more but for your unique friendship and shared moments (especially in the comments sections aheheheh!) I do look forward for more times of blogposting, shared thoughts and bonding times again.
Daghang salamat sa inyong tanan!!!
I remember last year when I first started my blogsite. Actually I started out as a nobody in the blogosphere. Learning about this from my wife Kaye (she was the one who influenced me to come up with one, since she had her own created also last year. Visit www.keekaye.com), I began to get interested and started my own. But not yet on the site. I actually disguised myself as a blogger when I began reading on Deejay’s site (who happens to be inactive for a long time!). I carried the name Bonggang Bonggang Bongoloids. I sported the old guy without teeth smiling avatar. Anyhow, for quite a while, I hid from the shadow of Bongoloids, until around November 15 last year, I decided to start my own blog site for good. Using the WordPress platform, there I created my very own site — Ang Aking Munting Bongkito.
I tried coming up with a few blogs from time to time, my first entitled “Ah Ganito Pala ‘Yun.” It was quite okay. Got to establish a few friends (of course, courtesy of Kaye) and made around 8 blogposts since the time I began, well, not bad for a first timer. Then, by February of this year, I decided to move to dot.com, again influenced by my wife and also suggestion of Madame Salbehe. So there. I moved to a new home, a home with my own personal identity. I called it TheGreenFrogCreations.com, which is actually my dream business company.
Today is already November 9. In a few days, my site will already be 1. Not much has changed though, but I guess the success of this site is primarily because of blogger friends like you. So to celebrate this “momentous” occasion (momentous daw o!), I’ll ask anyone from you to help me dressed my blogosversary post with a fan sign (sorry I just want to ride the bandwagon hehehe). But I’ll add a little twist. Since my site has a primary image reference which is the bench or bangkito, hope you can add that too to your fan sign as part of the design. However you treat it, it’s up to you.
But wholeheartedly, I thank you my blogger friends for supporting me and reading and commenting to posts for the past year. Hoping to share with you more stories and chitchats on my second year.
Just like what I always say, kitakits na lang ulit sa ating tambayan ha? And don’t forget to bring your fan signs as well! Tenchu, tenchu!!!!
Hi everyone! Sorry for the short notice but this is actually a treat for you my blogger friends. My friend from Gadgets magazine (who is sponsoring the event as well) is inviting bloggers to attend this one-of-a-kind Bloggers Convention on April 17th at the Richmonde Hotel. It is actually open to all, however, you have to pay around P2,500 for registration. So as a treat, all you need to do is email me your name & email addy at kermiteah@yahoo.com so I can submit your names, and you can get in on the event free of charge! If you are interested, email away for I need to submit the listing by today until tomorrow after lunch. Those who will be attending will have the chance to meet prominent bloggers, bring home giveaways and may even win great prizes in their raffle (the last event I attended their event they gave out iPods and cellfones as prizes, so you get what I mean when I say prizes hehehe)!

So if you have time on Saturday, do come to this big gathering of bloggers from all over the metro. Kaya, email na!
This is my first official post for my new home. Anyways, go… and read on.
If you happen to pass by Pasong Tamo cor. Estrella St in Makati (that’s right after 3 blocks from Buendia), you would notice that there’s this one building with the signage “Datronics.” So what’s the story behind this and why am I making a blog about it? Actually, wala naman. Hehehe kidding! The truth is, Datronics is where my Papa used to work way back when I was still in grade school. Yup! Pretty long time ago! And frankly, after 2 -3 years that Papa left the company, it closed shop. And it’s hard to believe that after all these years the signage is still there. I thought of making a blog in tribute to my Dad who worked really hard for the company he was once part of.
As far as I know, the company closed in the early 1990′s because of financial factors and as always, bosses. It was managed before by a brother of Sen. “Manong” Enrile, who was actuallyknown in the elitist circle. They were, in fact, the first carriers of Compaq computers then, when Compaq was relatively new in the market. The company used to be housed at FM Lopez building in Legaspi village (Eurovilla area). When I was a kid, Papa used to fetch me and my late bro Jon from Don Bosco and then we go to his office to stay a bit while Papa finishes some stuff. Come to think of it, Datronics was just near the school so it’s easier for them to fetch us (Dismissal before was around 3pm). Another thing, Papa’s office is just one floor up from Mama’s office then CIS, where she works. O di ba very convenient indeed!
When we get there, of course, the first thing that we’d want to play on was the Compaq PCs then. To describe it, the PC is like a big rectangular suitcase, with the handle becoming the keyboard. So the rest of the big apparatus makes up the monitor, CPU, and all others. Do you get the picture? Literally, it’s considered the first Compaq laptop in a bulge. But mind you, I enjoyed playing Galaxians and the ever famous Pac-man game. I remembered once, Papa, being dedicated and all, sometimes brought one at home for him to continue his work as accountant. I never realized how much he did love working at Datronics. In fact, he was one of those employees who were given a break and if not, most trusted by the bosses. And in all those years, his dedication paid off in having us go to a nice private school (which I never knew that tuition was a bit steep) and graduate from it. I knew Papa was happy there. And because we were kids back then, we never saw that, except the fact that Papa let us sometimes play Pac-man on the other units while he work at his station. After a while, he would already pack up and move to where we are so he would also have his turn to beat the 5 ghosts while munching all the pellets in the process. I even remembered Papa relating to us that they even came up with a Pac-man competition, where top contenders vied for something (sorry matagal na yun I can’t remember na yung prize). You see, Papa, even if he was busy most of the time computing numbers and all, was also a very good Pac-man player. He’s the only one I knew who brought the game to a whole new level. Can you imagine reaching 60,000 points+ in just a single game? Talk about talent… and practice!
Anyways, when we moved from Don Bosco to MaSci, Papa was still with Datronics. A lot of good things were derived from his stay there. I knew we were able to have a car, got some extra furniture, and had an extra Compaq laptop to tinker and play with. But as years went on, Datronics’ performance was not anymore at par with its competitors. Apart from the rising competition, there were rumors internally. Then “Manong” bro resigned. The company then moved from Legaspi Village to finally in Estrella (see pic above). Of course, following suit were other employees who felt the company is about to “cave in”. Even those people who were kababayan of Papa from Batangas (whom he recommended for hiring) suddenly were retrenched. Eventually, Papa decided that it’s best for him to find another work because there were no more better opportunities the company would want to explore into. And so, Papa left the company. It took him a few months after before finding a new one. And then after a few years, Papa heard that the company indeed closed. It was a sigh of relief for him that he was already out of Datronics when it “rested in peace”. But i guess the memories and the good things that it gave him were something he would always remember. I for one am grateful to Datronics. Because it gave Papa a great sense of achievement and direction. And of course, for the good things it gave us when we were still growing and studying.
So that’s the story of Datronics. If ever you happen to pass by that area, try (as in try nyo lang) to take notice of the signage. At least now you would know the story of that company. The reason for the signage being there helped me remind of how far Papa have gone and been successful after that. It served as a landmark for me that makes me smile everytime just recalling of the good things I experienced then. For that I am thankful. But to be simple about it, I guess, the owner of the building doesn’t have the ounce of strength to ask someone to take it down, though the company has been non-existent for so many years now.

ite delayed but just the same, just want to share the great thing about my first wedding anniversary — memorable and totally nature COOL! Yup! Timing is truly a factor since we went to Tagbilaran, Bohol for a 3-day escape with my wife Kaye, as my gift for her for our first year. Sarap ng feeling! Aside from the fact that this was considered to be our official honeymoon (last year was just a Tagaytay overnight with the family and a 2-night stay at Pan Pacific Manila), it was also the chance for me & Kaye to travel the Philippines and see how great our country is. No wonder people all over the world come here and go tripping anywhere that’s (1) close to nature or (2) beach front scenery
! For us, it’s the idea of traveling and seeing the country makes it one remarkable experience for us, not to mention to immerse the way of life that’s different from what I know back here in Manila. But in all, it was because of Kaye that I savor everything. Seeing in her eyes the joys of life and her smiles and feeling it deeply inside me as we tour and enjoy the sights and sounds of Bohol is more than worth it… Thanks Be for sharing that wonderful time with me. And thanks for a great year of being together… Hope to experience the more of the best of life together with you for more years… I LOVE YOU… Now, sa’n kaya kami next year? Hmmm…
One of my most memorable moments with my wife Kaye is the first time we spent our Christmas together. Actually, this pic was taken during my last year’s birthday. Yet more than my birthday, it was the time that spending Christmas with the most precious person in my life is what I was looking forward to. And you know what… again this time around, when the cool breeze brushes your face and the sight of twinkling lights and bustling shops everywhere, I’ll forever be looking forward to this season because I’ll be spending it with my only baby for life… my Kaye… thanks for sharing all the great seasons with me, Hon… I love you…
Finally, the day had come for me and for the rest of the performers. Dubbed “PPO & IL : In Perfect Harmony,” the whole evening was indeed inspiring and enigmatic with classic songs and songs you never thought the PPO can even play. Of course my rendition of “The Promise” was okay too. Frankly, because my wife Kaye like the song so much, plus she was the one who chose it for me. Wala daw kasi challenge yung ibang choices daw. Hehehe! Anyways, for me it was a dream come true. And I’d like to thank my wife for it. Imagine, I’m no Martin Nievera nor Michael Buble, but luckily, feeling ko I’ve now been levelled with them because of this experience. Sarap talaga ng feeling! To my baby, thanks for this! It was really great to be part of your event! Sayang nga lang (daw!) we didn’t have a duet. Well maybe next time, if there’s another!
Really can’t wait for September 23! So what’s so special with the day? Well, mind you, it’s the day when I’ll be performing with one of the country’s renowned classical ensemble… (tadaaaN!) — the Philippine Philharmomic Orchestra!
Just imagine… different strings creating one harmonious music, captivating the very essence of your soul as the playing music fills your hearts and brings you to pure melodic ecstasy… really that’s a total blast for me! And truthfully (with a little selling of myself to be part of PPO & IL’s tandem concert) I thank my baby Kaye and Madam Ai for letting me be part of it. This is one of those times that when you believe so much that your dream finally comes true in the end. Am just proud to be singing with them. And together with my wife and the rest of other IL talented singers, I say this ahead… daghang salamat sa akong pagparticipate sa concert. Just hope everyone will love my performance as how Kaye loves me singing the song piece for that night.
So you see, it’s really an overwhelming for me to be part of the event, and I must say, for all those aspiring singers to have the PPO as their accompanist… well, eat your heart out becuz it’s truly an uplifting and amazing experience (of course to my wife as well, who’ll also be singing on the event)!
Basta promise, when the pictures come in, I’ll post some here real soon. ‘Til then, may music fill our hearts and inspire us to be who we are as always…
